Long Time Coming update

So a lot has happened since February. I got my thirty-one start up kit and have had several parties! My dad had to have bypass surgery so we lived in the hospital for a couples weeks. He is doing well and recovery better than expected! Fountain pic is at the hospital.

I am still working out at least 5 days/week and having shakes for breakfast. Loving egg yolk omelets too! My bday was in March and had a great one. Spoiled by my hubby! He says I can be 26 forever lol

Catch Up

Below are some pics from the last month. We tried out a new restaurant in Raleigh called Guasaca and loved it! They make these things called Arepas which are potato cakes they stuff with meats,veggies,& cheese. Super Bowl night was fun bc of course yummy food but also we enjoyed the time with our small group from church. For Valentines Day hubby woke up to his fave drink and Maggie got some special treats. Mr. Bumblebee had exploratory surgery on his knee so he is still recovering from that. They didn't find anything so he is back to physical therapy and strengthening the leg muscles to support his knee.

40 days of decluttering is going well and I love clearing things out...feels so great!

This past weekend we had a lil snow fall in NC...not really anything but still fun and always enjoyable to see how the south panics with a forecast of snow <.5 inches.

A Lil Fishy

Lately I have been trying to eat more vegetables and less carbs. I also have been more open to fish. I actually really like the salmon we cook in foil packets. We use some seasoning and lemon juice and it cooks in 20 minutes! It is super yummy and filling.

This week Mr. Bumblebee has to work nights so when I get up for work he is only a couple hours if that into his sleeping, so I let the dog out of her crate and into the bed because I know that way she won't wine and wake him up. This morning I let her in the bed, got ready for work, and came back to grab my phone by the bed to see her laying next to my husband. She took my spot! I guess I was just a little jealous lol. The picture is too cute though!

Btw...I hate base exercises (where they 'play war')!!!

I love my Military Husband

A Military Wife

Lots of moving...
Moving...
Moving...
Moving far from home...
Moving two cars, three kids and one dog...all riding with HER of course.
Moving sofas to basements because they won't go in THIS house;
Moving curtains that won't fit;
Moving jobs and certifications and professional development hours.
Moving away from friends;
Moving toward new friends;
Moving her most important luggage: her trunk full of memories.

Often waiting...
Waiting...
Waiting...
Waiting for housing.
Waiting for orders.
Waiting for deployments.
Waiting for phone calls.
Waiting for reunions.
Waiting for the new curtains to arrive.
Waiting for him to come home, For dinner...AGAIN!

They call her 'Military Dependent', but she knows better:
She is fiercely In-Dependent.

She can balance a check book;
Handle the yard work;
Fix a noisy toilet;
Bury the family pet...
She is intimately familiar with drywall anchors and toggle bolts.
She can file the taxes;
Sell a house;
Buy a car;
Or set up a move... .....all with ONE Power of Attorney.

She welcomes neighbors that don't welcome her.
She reinvents her career with every PCS;
Locates a house in the desert, The Arctic, Or the deep south.
And learns to call them all 'home'.
She MAKES them all home.

Military Wives are somewhat hasty...
They leap into:
Decorating,
Leadership,
Volunteering,
Career alternatives,
Churches,
And friendships. They don't have 15 years to get to know people.
Their roots are short but flexible.
They plant annuals for themselves and perennials for those who come after them.

Military Wives quickly learn to value each other:
They connect over coffee,
Rely on the spouse network,
Accept offers of friendship and favors.
Record addresses in pencil...

Military Wives have a common bond:
The Military Wife has a husband unlike other husbands; his commitment is unique.
He doesn't have a 'JOB'
He has a 'MISSION' that he can't just decide to quit...
He's on-call for his country 24/7.
But for her, he's the most unreliable guy in town!
His language is foreign
TDY
PCS
OPR
SOS
ACC
BDU
ACU
BAR
CIB
TAD
And so, a Military Wife is a translator for her family and his.
She is the long- distance link to keep them informed;
the glue that holds them together.

A Military Wife has her moments:
She wants to wring his neck;
Dye his uniform pink;
Refuse to move to Siberia;
But she pulls herself together.
Give her a few days,
A travel brochure,
A long hot bath,
A pledge to the flag,
A wedding picture,
And she goes.
She packs.
She moves.
She follows.

Why?
What for?
How come?
You may think it is because she has lost her mind.
But actually it is because she has lost her heart.
It was stolen from her by a man,
Who puts duty first,
Who longs to deploy,
Who salutes the flag,
And whose boots in the doorway remind her that as long as he is her Military Husband,
She will remain his military wife.
And would have it no other way.

Happy 2013

The last month has been super busy and fast. We went to Ohio to see Mr. Bumblebee's family for Christmas which was a good trip! Our nieces are the cutest! We got back just in time to enjoy NYE in Raleigh. The event was called First Night Raleigh and included performances, carnival rides, and yummy food. It was a different but entertaining evening. A band called Delta Rae performed which we enjoyed and to top it all off we got to see a firework show at midnight! Snuggled enjoying a concert and firework show together was a wonderful way to start of the new year.

I met my goal to pay off my school loans last year! Still working on my 2 min plank. 2013 is going to bring lots of changes for us but we are leaning on Christ and we know He will be guiding us every step of the way.
