Promised Forever & Always

Thanksgiving was a great week! My sister and her fiance were in town so it was wonderful to be all together! So thankful for family and being together this year <3

On 12/4 Mr. Bumblebee and I celebrated 2 yrs of marriage! He surprised me with a confetti cake frosted in the sunset (in remembrance of our honeymoon to the DR). So precious! We also started a tradition of lighting a candle for each yr...should be fun when we get to 50 :)

I am a Color Runner

This last week was full of fun things. Mr. Bumblebee and I went on a midweek date night and got to experience a mixology class which was fun.

I got my first Love With Food box which was fun and had some yummy things and some not so good things! Check out the monthly box tab for a pic.

My friend Heather and I went to Charlotte and ran the 5k Color Run! Four times during the run/walk you have a different color thrown at you. It was a really cold and windy day so the color did not stick the best but it was a fun and unique experience.

Cake and Shoes

I made banana pudding cake last week and it turned out so delicious! Mr Bumblebee loved it! Another great Pinterest find :)

Got new running shoes and love them so much! Going to run the color run in 2 weeks with a friend and I'm def looking forward to it! I will be wearing my old shoes though just in case.

End of yr goals: 2 min plank and pay off student loans.

Winter Cleaning

Last week Mr. Bumblebee went home to visit his family (I did not have any vacation time) so I took that time to clean out some rooms in the house. I went through several bins and got rid of junk and made piles to 'give away' or 'sell'. Now that he is home we are going to tackle the garage one weekend and of course our closets always need a good sorting. I love when the house is organized and clean!

My Sr Airman

CONGRATS to Mr. Bumblebee on being promoted to Sr Airman! I am so proud of him! <3 Rach (I need a signature design)

Funnel Cakes & Fishing

On our way to enjoy Williamsburg, VA we stopped in Richmond and ate at The Black Sheep (famous on Man vs. Food). We ordered the USS Wabash which was delicious and then had dark chocolate creme brule!
Once in Williamsburg we went to a winery and visited many great restaurants and shops! It was a wonderful mini vacation!
One of our favorite parts was going to Busch Gardens! We of course had to get a funnel cake!
For Mr. Bubmblebee's 23rd Bday we went camping in Washington, NC at Tranter's Campground. Great place and cute town! Maggie went crazy while fishing but loved the fire at night.

Long Jeans & Planks

I am excited to report that I have finally found a place I fit in their jeans and they are long enough! Thank you American Eagle! You can order extra-long jeans off their website...who knew?!

My most recent fitness accomplishment is a 1min 30sec plank! My goal is a 2min plank by Christmas. I have started Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 dvd which has left me sore after the first 2 days. I skipped level 1 because I wasn't feeling pushed enough but level 2 is kicking my butt.

This weekend we are heading to Williamsburg, VA and I am so excited to get away with hubby and enjoy a new place.

Here is a pic from Wrightsville Beach, NC. We visited Wilmington the weekend he got back from Utah and enjoyed the beach, good food, and a couples massaage (amazing!).

TDY

Mr. Bumblebee went on a 25 day TDY (training trip) so I have been spending the last few weeks working out a little extra. I also tried a 3 days cleanse involving lots of protein and grapefruit. Although I wasn't as hungry during those days I definitely will not be able to eat grapefruit for a while. Pinterest has been wonderful with different work out ideas. Last week I did do a 10 min circuit 3 times which I felt great about accomplishing. Here is the breakdown (each exercise you do for 1 min):

Squat + Shoulder Press/ Renegade Rows/ Burpees/ Mountain Climnbers/ Squat Jumps/ Plank Jacks/ Push-ups/ Plyo-Split Hops/ Oblique Crunches/ Ice Skaters

Although it can be lonely when he is gone, I am able to get things done around the house and step up my fitness routine. I am looking forward to his return later this week and the fun adventures we have planned in the next couple months!

Foodie Pen Pal

The Lean Green Bean
Last month I participated in a Foodie Pen Pal exchange. I received a bloggers name and sent her a package full of our favorites and then I received a package from a different blogger. Below is the first half of my package (she forgot stuff and the other half is still on the way!). The cookie is from a bakery famous in Seattle..it was yummy! Even hubby enjoyed it :) The coasters are super cute and have already been used a lot in our living room! The produce bags are nice but I have yet to be able to use them. My parents are coming to visit this weekend (hubby is tdy) so I'll need to get stuff and I'll use the bags. It was a great experience. I am taking a break this month with hubby gone but I plan to do it again for sure! Try it out!!! Check out the blogger who got my package!

The Heat is ON

So far this summer has been SO hot and humid. We are enjoying the time together and are thankful for a great summer so far!
We got tattoos!!! We found a LivingSocial deal and went for it to get this new ink which we love! Mine says "the joy of the Lord is our strength" in Spanish down my back and Mr. Bumblebee got a cross on his inner arm.
Banana Choco Chip Oatmeal Cookies :) YUMMY http://pinterest.com/pin/160018592980421288/
Most recent project: Bird bath made from ceramic pot - hubby even helped!
We headed to Ohio for a week vacation (SO needed). Maggie loved seeing her friends and I love getting to see the neices! We even got to celebrate one of their 1st bdays.
While in Ohio we made a trip to Indy to meet my sis! Enjoyed laughing with her :)

I want s'more

SUMMER IS HERE!!!! Memorial Day weekend here was a little rainy but we still managed to enjoy s'mores! I put the oven on low broiler and placed the marshmallows on a tin foil lined cookie sheet. After a few seconds I turn them to get other sides browned. When I take them out they are perfectly browned and ready to place on the chocolate and graham cracker and enjoy!!! Thanks to all the troops who have served and those who sacrificed their lives. God bless those serving now and their families. A special thanks to my hubby who I am honored to love and support whether he is home or far away.

Cinnamon Rolls

Made some awesome cinnamon rolls!!! Recipe

Such a wonderful way to end the weekend before starting my new job! Hello 40 hrs/week again :) A blessing though to make more money to pay off bills etc.

As spring is here I am looking forward to my birthday in a couple weeks and the warm weather that has already paid us a visit here in NC!

To The Beach We Go

Myrtle Beach, SC was a wonderful spot to head for a couple nights with the hubby. We enjoyed our stay at Sleep Inn at Harbour View and truly enjoyed the sights down the coast. I reviewed several places on Tripadvisor. I also used that sight to find out what restaurants were good etc. Our favorite restaurant was Gauchao Brazilian Steakhouse -absolutely wonderful! We loved our day at the beach as well! If anyone ever wants to head there and needs travel tips I would be glad to give some.

It was great to spend quality time with the hubby and get to know each other better. The second year of marriage is different because we are getting used to having each other around (although it is a little different for us bc he was gone for 3 months). It is interesting how much you don't know about each other but fun to keep learning new things. I love my husband so very much and thank God for him each day! <3

Home for Christmas

A little over 3 months after my hubby left he was able to come home just in time for Christmas!!! He was supposed to be gone till March but they sent a group home early which was an awesome surprise! When I picked him up I had made a sign that read "All I want for Christmas is A1C *last name*"! It turned out cute.

It is a blessing to have him home safe and we are enjoying treasuring time together. Below are pics from the last month and a few Pinterest inspirations :)
